23 Apr Thaddeus Dixon

Thaddeus Dixon was born on January 14th in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 3 Thaddeus began playing the drums quickly building and developing his skill set, love, and passion for music. At this very young age, his parents saw a great talent in him & began guiding him in a musical direction. Determined to not let his talent go to waste, Thaddeus began making strides in music, by honing his craft, which soon led to accomplishing the first of many career goals.

Thaddeus’ ambition drove him to competitions, namely, at the American Guild Of Music, in which he achieved the highest honor in the drums category for his age group. To further his musicianship, Thaddeus attended Detroit’s High School For Fine & Performing Arts, which after led him to obtain a scholarship in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University. After completing his degree and receiving a Bachelor of Music in 2006 Thaddeus began taking his musical talent a step further & maturing his skills in music production, as well as education by becoming a faculty member in the music department at University of California Berkeley at the age of 26.

Up to this point, Thaddeus has managed himself in all his endeavors. He’s had the great honor of touring, performing, and or recording with many accomplished artists such as NeYo, Deitrick Haddon, Roy Hargrove, Wynton Marsalis, Talib Kweli, Sean Kingston, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Ginuwine, Cody Simpson, and most recently Glee star Lea Michele. He’s been featured on TV shows, such as MTV’s Making His Band & has also been seen on The Today Show, 106 & Park, Live With Kelly, Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and The Tonight Show. It would be a folly to not mention the great pleasure he’s had performing at The White House, Carnegie Hall & a variety of other historic, world renowned events centers & venues.

While on his path, he’s garnered a number of endorsements who he proudly represents. Tama Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Yamaha DTX, AKAI, and KRK have been along for the ride & have been a big part of Thaddeus’ recent success. When he’s not performing, he’s creating music in the studio. This is all part of his conquest, to leave a lasting impression on your ears, eyes & in your hearts forever.
